The municipal chief executive of Hohoe Hon, Noble Daniel Awume, has planted a tree on Friday June 10, 2022 at the forecourt of the Hohoe Municipal Assembly to mark Green Ghana Day in the municipality.
President Nana Addo Dankw Akufo-Addo has declared June 10 as this year’s Green Ghana Day on the theme “Mobilizing for a Greener Future” with a target to plant 20 million trees across the country.
As part of Government’s aggressive afforestation and reforestation program, Mr. Awume said 50,000 trees were allocated to be distributed for individuals and institutions in the Hohoe municipality.
The M C E appealed to individuals to take a look at their backyards to find a place to plant a tree to protect the ecosystem.
