Hohoe Municipal Assembly in Collaboration with the Ghana AIDS Commission and the Volta Regional Hospital celebrated the 2023 world AIDS Day at Gbi Atabu.

The 2023 World AIDS day was observed on 1st December , 2023 with the theme ‘Let Communities Lead‘ . As such, the day was jointly celebrated with the farmers’ on the R.C Park at Atabu in the Hohoe Municipality.

The general public was tested and counseled by the Health officials led by Mr. Felix Mensah.

The Municipal HIV Focal Person, Miss Priscilla A.N. Torkornoo gathered the youth to educate them on the importance of Abstinence, and the use of Condoms.
She said there was the need for the youth especially, to be given periodic education on issues of HIV/ AIDS and how to live a decent life to become responsible men and women in our society.

She also spoke briefly on the self- testing kits introduced by Government to help more people test for HIV. She then urged the general public to avail themselves for voluntary testing, and also contact the health officials for the HIV self-testing kits.
