A 3-DAY NON-RESIDENTIAL TRAINING FOR JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL TEACHERS ON THE COMMON CORE PROGRAMME (CCP) CURRICULUM

The Junior High School Curriculum was developed and code-named Common Core Programme (CCP) Curriculum that is aimed at developing 21st century skills in our learners to meet the demands at the job market. This followed the review and the subsequent implementation of the primary curriculum otherwise known as the standards-based curriculum. In order to ensure full implementation of the Common Core Programme (CCP) Curriculum, a 3-day non-residential training was organized for all Junior High School teachers, Headteachers and School Improvement Support Officers (SISOs) from Hohoe Municipality and the newly created Guan District from Wednesday 12th to Friday 14th January, 2022.

The opening ceremony of the training was held at St. Francis College of Education Auditorium, Hohoe on 12th January, 2022. In attendance were the Municipal Director of Education, Janet Valerie Datsa (Ms.), Mr. Edmund Batse Chief Inspector of Schools, Mr. Emmanuel Tsebie Head Planning and Statistics, Dr. Solomon Amankwa Human Resource Management and Development, Mr. Kafui Bosso Finance and Administration, Mr. Peter Ayitey Municipal Accountant together with the facilitators. In her opening address, the Municipal Director of Education, Janet Valerie Datsa (Ms.) used the opportunity to highlight on the Common Core Programme (CCP) Curriculum with reference to the Standards-Based Curriculum which was implemented at the Primary School level few years ago. She reiterated the need for the participants to take key interest in the training paying attention to all details of the presentations for effective implementation. She called on all headteachers and School Improvement Support Officers (SISOs) to make sure all their teachers attend the workshop.
